HOIANA RESORT & GOLF CELEBRATED 25 TH YEARS OF “CHILDREN OF VIETNAM”
[Quảng Nam, 14/03/2023] – On March 9, 2023, at Hoiana Resort & Golf, the foundation "Children of Vietnam” (COV) celebrated its 25th anniversary to honor the activities that supported local community during the years.
“Children of Vietnam” (COV) began in 1998 with two friends, one from Vietnam and the other from America, who simply saw the needs of many children and decided to take action. Ben Wilson and Luong Thi Huong rode a scooter through the streets of Da Nang and into the countryside, bringing aid to children and their families — food, shelter, medicine, and clothing — anything and everything a child might need. After 25 years, COV has helped thousands of families and children in many areas, especially in the central region. Brightening each child’s future remains their focus today.
Sharing the same vision of developing a sustainable local community, Hoiana Resort & Golf (Hoiana), since the early days when the project started operating, quickly put its trust and identified that COV Fund will be one of the strategic organizations for voluntary activities.
During the past five years, Hoiana has accompanied with COV to contribute, and help disadvantaged children and their families via many events and programs, with a total sponsorship value to nearly 2 billion VND. Most recently, in February 2023, Hoiana held a charity auction called "Hoiana Love", raising more than VND 580 million and giving all this money to COV and Quang Nam Charity Association, thereby sending it to the Quang Nam Agent for Victims of Dioxide and projects of building new orrenovating washrooms for local schools in Quang Nam Province.
At COV's 25th anniversary, Mr. Steve Wolstenholme, President & CEO of Hoiana shared - “Hoiana deeply appreciates COV's contributions to the community, especially in Da Nang and Quang Nam areas. COV's volunteer programs are organized in various forms, timely and always with most sincerity. We will definitely accompany COV for many more years to come.”
